Actual Research Project:  Functional characterisation of Aux/IAA genes in tomato

The perception and signaling of the plant hormone auxin involve the cooperative action of several components among which Aux/IAAs and ARFs play a pivotal role. In the last years, the Genomic and Biotechnology of Fruit (GBF) lab has developed several researches unraveling the importance of auxin signaling during tomato fruit development.

The variability of Aux/IAA gene family in tomato was analyzed in term of expression profiling and functional characterization (Audran-Delalande et al., 2012). The results obtained recently provide new leads towards the elucidation of Sl-IAA genes function during plant development, like the role of Sl-IAA27 in fruit development and chlorophyll accumulation (Bassa et al., 2012).
